Being new to AMD processors, and the fact that i am having one built right now brings another question to mind. There had been alot of issues with the cpu's not having A-class cooling fans etc....

Has this been improved, will my 4000+ (retail) have this issue behind it?

For the most part, the stock one should work fine as long as your case has good airflow, the ambient room temp is at a resonable temp. and you are not overclocking. Room temp and case ventilation make a huge difference. If you are planning on overclocking at all then you will need a better HSF also.

welcome to the family . first of all the stock coolers have always been class A coolers. when it comes to O/Cing that is where any CPU heatsink will run into a problem ! even intels (oh no !! you said intel ) yes any time you put more voltage to a CPU you are going to have to get rid of that heat some how . but if you are not O/Cing then that IS a class A HSF.

If anything, the intels run hotter. I have a 533 FSB P4 2.93 GHz computer that idles around 42 deg C and it has an 80mm fan on it. Put it under any load at all and it jumps up to 50 deg.
