Ok I like many people am totally tired of Creative and the lack of support. I am planning on getting this sound card.

Advantage appears to be, that it wont matter what the game I'm playing supports, 2ch or 5.1, this card will create the 5.1 sound, and with less loss in performance than I get for the software and hardware I use now. Currently I have an Audigy 2 ZS and 7.1 creative 7500 speakers so all the decoding is on the card and software.

Main question is that only Creative makes a dolby digital 7.1 speaker setup and the fact its $500 I don't want to get it. So I am stuck with back to 5.1

Is it worth it to go back for the performance. and what speakers to use? Does anyone have experience with the folowing? I have read the tech reviews but I want gamer opinions.
