I'm about to rebuild a friends computer and have a tenative list of components that we are planning on putting into it. We have already mulled over the features we need in the computer and have made this tenative list. The only things we are needing are Processor, Motherboard, and memory. Other items have already been purchased (Tagan power supply, DVD writer, etc) and are awaiting the new parts.
Here is my quary. We are looking into getting an Athlon64 3500+ while looking over the various model sof this processor at newegg, I found 3. One is a Clawhammer core the other two are Venice cores I know the Venice cores are 90s and the Clawhammer is a 130. Is there goign to be much benefit from one model to the next? One of the Venice core processors is model ADA3500CGBOX the other is ADA3500BPBOX. What differance will there be in them?
Also, we were looking into a MSI K8N Neo4-F motherboard. I had read a review that someone had posted of this board and they said that the board would not work with some of the 3500+ processors is this true? which ones?
I could also use some advice on what path to go with on RAM. The target is to have 1 gig of RAM, but is it beneficial to dual channel the RAM with two 512s? Also, if someone could point me towards good quality RAM with descent timings that would be fairly inexpensive.
the venice core would be your best choise over the clawhammer , I would go with balistick , corsair , OCZ or parrot ram they are your best choices in ram you be the judge on what fit's your budget and mobo . OCZ is my first choise in Ram. othere than that looks like you are going to have some fun there .
