Hey guys today i just got a brand new Samsung SyncMaster 730B it's a 17" monitor with 8ms response time. well so far i am in love with this monitor i bougth it for it's response time and the fact that it has 15-pin D-Sub & DVI-D interfaces. i am currently using the D-Sub cable that was supplied with the monitor , Now i want to know how much better of a picture i am going to get by dishing some more dough for a DVI cable. I do alot of gaming so if it's going to improve my gaming experience then i'll do it. also what's the difference between DVI-D & DVI ?

I don't know a great deal on the subject, although I am pretty sure that with DVI you get lower refresh rates. But you are no longer required to adjust your picture (so that it fits correctly) as it is always adjusted correctly (automatically) compared to that of the standard VGA connector.

it also support's high as [content edited] res and is hd ur evga should have dvi then svid then dvi

That feature isn't their with the average flat screen CRT monitors is it?

While it should be an improvement I don't know how much of a noticeable difference it will make. That is a pretty individual thing. I am sensitive to things to a lot of things most people don't seem to even notice are there. Wikipedia' ">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvi has a nice little write-up on DVI.
