QUOTE (SLaY3r @ Mar 13 2005, 01:23 PM) I would go w/ a Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D and a X850 XT.
Agreed

In addition to that, I would stick with stock cooling on the FX-55.

Forget about SLI, you'll thank yourself later.

Get an X850XT and you'll be flying at 1600x1280 resolution.

Also, you sure you can't find a retail FX-55 for cheaper? The difference between OEM and retail shouldn't be more then $100.

Well if you can't, then just go for the OEM FX-55 and an XP-120, or for a more silent solution, the Zalman 7700 CU or AlCu.

Though from reviews I've seen, the stock FX-55 heatsink works just as good ocasionaly better, then even those top of the class heatsinks.

I presume it does, as it says it has 2xPCI-e 16x slots, which is a little weird to me because an SLI board usually comes with 2xPCI-e 8x slots, but anyway, that answers your question. I am against SLI, and I recommend a single x850XT for 450 bucks

btw, here's a link to the mobo

Can two ATI video cards be used in SLI? If not I've heard ATI has plans for something similar--"AMR." Anyone with info on AMR?

No. Two ATI video cards can not be used in SLI. However you can use 1 Nvidia gfx card and 1 ATI gfx card on SLI mobos, but they won't work together. AMR = ATI Multi Rendering. Its ATI's answer to SLI.

More than likely, it will be available by the end of this year.
