(Geetung @ Mar 13 2005, 11:06 PM) I have a Asus A7V600-X mobo and when I installed it and plugged in a pair of speakers into the line out port, very little sound like whispers would come out of it, even when I turn the volume up to 100%. I am using the onboard sound, The quality of the sound was like staticity FM radio quality. Do anybody know whats the problem
Well the first thing I would do is check the back of the computer. Make sure you have your computer speakers in all the way. By the way, you wouldnt have a second pair of speakers, even if they are old and or cheap, so that you could test them out and make sure the speakers you are using arent bad.
Now this is the sound the Asus uses
ADI AD1888 6-channel CODEC
S/PDIF out interface
And you may wish to get the newest drivers for it. ADI, analog.com, I am unfamiliar with, but was unable to find any drivers on their website, unlike realtek or cmedia. http://www.asus.com.tw/support...d/it...0-X&Type=Latest
Take a look there for the newest drivers. You might just want to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them. Also go into control panel, sounds and audio devices and play around in there. Also check the volume controls. There might be something on.
its possible you have a bad board, or that the sound has gone out on. In that case you can RMA the board, or you can buy a new sound card. Sound cards range in prices from 10 to 150 so its up to you.
