After a bit of thought (and plenty of pestering from my Dad for an idea), I have decided to ask my dad for a new mouse and mouse pad for Christmas. The way I figure it is that it would probably be a good idea to get a high quality mouse and mouse pad, which I won't want to replace anytime soon. I was thinking of the G5 and some $20 or something mouse pad. I'm not an expert on either of these topics though so I'll need your help. Opinions/Suggestions for either a mouse or mouse pad? Thanks, Zozio.

I think AZ had a thread about his 5 star notebook mousepad take the front cover off and flip it, and there's a mouse pad. Liked it a lot I guess. I just use a like 10c blue pad. Lotta people like teh G5 too, I like it, don't have one, but man are they nice at the stores I just use a wireless optical Kensington mouse. Does me fine, and it's comfy

I'm using the Razer Copperhead + the Mantis Speed Pad, and I have the Diamondback mouse on my second rig. They're pretty sweet.
But you should get a feel for a bunch of them to really see what you like because it's highly subjective.

I've been doing some research and I'm thinking of the MX518 and the Steelpad S&S. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16826104178http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16826993001Apparently the Steelpad S&S is the best hard plastic gaming surface but its made more for optical mice than laser mice. Together this comes to less than $60 shipped - not bad. Opinions? I'll go to business depot a bit later to try for the feel of mice - thanks for that suggestion.

That's what I mean, some people hate them. I love 'em.

yeah, this is why buying a mouse online isnt best, goto a store and "fit" them, then buy online

I went to business depot and tried out some of the mice. Unfortunately they didn't have any Razers . I tried out quite a few logitechs though. I loved the mx revolution - however I can't justify spending $100 on a mouse. The mx400, mx518, mx600, and mx610 (basically all the right handed logitech mice they had on display) felt great. I think that I will probably go for the mx518. Its too bad they didn't have a G5 on display - I wanted to feel one of those too.

It's about the same as he mx518, just a rougher surface on the side basically is all. Check a bestbuy mayeb for the Razer and G5, I know we have the razers, G5, and MX518 here fro their "gaming mice".
