Hello, I am new here, I came looking for advice my system specs are: ~Athlon64 3400+ (ClawHammer), MB ASUS K8V SE DELUXE, [2] 512 CORSAIR XMS PRO PC-3200C2 , VGA ATI|RADEON 9600XT 128M 8X , Sony DVD ROM DDU1613, Sony DVD-RW DWU18a, [2] MAXTOR 6Y200M0 SATA 200 GIG --WINXP HOME BUILD 2600.XPSP_SP2~
I am adding a second 200 GIG Maxtor SATA drive for storage (non RAID), and someone on a different tech website told me that my 350W TurboLink PSU that came on my Aspire Dreamer II case, is not adequate for my system. I kind of thought that once I am ready to upgrade my video card I might need to push up the power, but I am only adding the HDD right now. PLEASE ALL, what are your thoughts on this, if you think I should replace it what would you recommend. The new Enermax Liberty 500W with the modular cables looks slick but, I really hate to spend the bucks if it is simply not necessary now. Thanks in advance, newfilter

It is good that you are thinking ahead to a PSU upgrade. You will need a quality PSU when you replace your video card. Just adding a HD is not going to increase you PSU load much, but it is a risk that I would try.
