Viewsonic VA1912wb is the one I'd get. if it's been linked to already, pardon me, but it would help when you link to stuff you give some indication what you're linking to.

look at the power consumption difference between the Viewsonic and Hanns-G. edit: same monitor at ZZF a tad more expensive, but free shipping AND a link to a $50 MIR from Viewsonic

one thing that bothers me is not being able to find an item at it's manufacturer's site. the Hanns-G JW199DPB can't be found on HannsG's website.
However, the "mfr's link" in the newegg listing takes you straight to the exact model.
also, the Viewsonic is RoHS compliant.
edit: found the HannsG model on their New Zealand product listings page, it's the silver model though, the JW199D

reckon you can get support in the US for an Australian model #? I got screwed by both ZZF and Western Digital over a 36GB Raptor that had a Hong Kong model #, neither would support it, both told me to contact the other.
the HannsG is a nice monitor, but this would be a deal killer for me.

I like that price at ZZF. One quick question: how important is DVI?

It's not that important. It's just another connector that's gonna replace analog VGA. My 15" lcd is pretty clear on a VGA connector.

Well, I see that Samsung has been left in the shadows on this one. Poo, they really make some noice LCDs. But since you lucky guys in the States get free shipping on that Hanns-G and Viewsonic, I'd say go with them. Very reputable companies, but be sure to remember that 19" widescreens are shorter than standard 19"ers. If you really want to make-up the difference, get a 20+" widescreen to compensate for this lost viewing space...if you really want to. Sammy 920N <3

I have a Samsung 920N and I love it. The picture quality is amazingly clear and sharp. At less than $200, you cannot go wrong with it! I paid $300 for mine less than 6 months ago, and I don't regret it.

Yeah man glad you mentioned that. Just went to TD to post a link to it, and discovered it dropped in price more than $100 in 4 months. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" /> Worth the $310CAD at the time though...thing is huge!!

Then its better than my last LCD. Note to self: stay away from no-name lcds. Can't find any Envisions on NewEgg though.
