http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16814102650http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16814102019its not officially a x1600xt but it has gddr3. Runs at slightly lower clock speeds too (faster than x1600pro) but look at the price. WOW! Amazing deals EDIT: Oops, sorry mods: i thought this was the Desktop Specs & Component Recommendations forums

Those do look like good deals....they are probably getting desperate with the X1600 series. Just look at the newegg reviews...looks like ATI's worst card to date...

Maybe I'll buy one. I need a cheap PCIe card to go with my Epox once I get it...

Yeah, they're horrible. Here's what my AGP X1600 Pro does at 4x AGP, and 1024x768 with 2x AA and 4x AF: And here's what it does at 1152x864 (where I run it), and 2x AA, 4xAF: That's horrible, man!

Actually, I thought it was pretty good for a card that I paid ~$120 for about 4 or 5 months ago. Of course, there was a slight bit of sarcasm...

I didn't mean performance wise. Performance wise they look great, and I may pick one up. I meant...it looks like people are having a lot of issues with them. Like weird things, not to mention they all seem to run pretty hot...a lot of the reviews report DOA cards....that sort of thing. Not performance.

Oh, you definitely have to run ATI Tool, if you have one. I only installed ATI Tool to see how hot my card was running, because every time I tried to game, it would restart. Well, it was running 68 or 70°C, with no games/programs running! They built the card's fan not to even turn on until like 65 or 70°C. I changed the fan speed settings, and now it idles @51-52°C, while websurfing. But, if you didn't know about ATI Tool, you'd send it back to newegg.

Well that's another thing I don't like about one or both of those two cards. I saw somewhere in one of the reviews that one of the cards didnt have temp sensors. Ok well...I am so sick of my 9800Pro not having temp sensors....I was spoiled by my 9600XT

He was being sarcastic lol. Shoot! Not even my SLi 6600GTs get those marks. At 1024x768, there was a small percentage under 30FPS.

Um, every X1xxx card I've ever heard of has temp. sensors. And my 9600XT didn't have a temp. sensor (nor did my 9800 Pro). quote:

The X1600 Pro is faster than a 6600GT, and the X1600XT is WAY faster: hardwarezone.com's review of midrange cards.

Well...not sure why your 9600XT didn't, unless it wasn't a 9600XT core, just an overclocked 9600Pro or something. ATI used to include temp sensors only on the XT models...my 9800Pro doesn't have one either. Weird thing is, my X700Pro does, so yeah, maybe they are putting them on most cards... Dunno, maybe it was just the normal X1600Pro that someone said it didn't have temp sensors...or maybe he was just wrong. Either way, I would be buying the overclocked edition, if not just for the GDDR3.

It is amazing how quick the deals die. Those two are done already. Here is one I could not pass up. a Zalman for 50 shipped.. I haven't been happy with that freezer pro64. Reguardless of what I do to it I never got much better than a simple stock cooler.
