Is there any difference between DTS encoding from motherboard or from a soundcard that can handle DTS Connect? I thought that it would be the same or am I wrong?

I can see that Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe have DTS Connect support and HDA Xplosion soundcard do support this feature to. Is there or could there be any difference in how these will encode any DTS stream to be decoded by my Logitech Z-5400 (support in hardware for DD/DTS)?
