Umm...
Is it just me, or are you running the memory at 232Mhz (actual clock) on 3.42v?

nope that is right . 3.4 volts !! I had to pump it up . I used 3.3 but got instabilaty and 3.4 with none ! I do have active cooling on the RAM though and so far it is runin great !

That is a suicide screen, trickson. Seriously, I've seen "value" memory hit that speed at far lower voltages.
Active cooling or not, that memory can't last long on that high voltage, no matter what the temps are.

um, yeah, am i missing something?
232mhz is not that good for Gold VX. they should be able to hit 250-260.
the volts are ok, the Gold series need 3.2+ v, whereas the platinum like 2.6 to 2.9v max.
also, go into BIOS and set the temp when chipset fan spins to full up to 45C or so. you have it at 7,500 rpm and temps are only 37C!

once this stuff hits 250 it boggs down and crashes on me . I will try this I havent bothed to chech that chipset thing. yeah the gold GX is fine at 3.4 volts but I wont be going no more than that . the timings are 2-2-2-5 . I have tryed every config on them and they realy like to run at this . I am on the 166 devider and this is the stable one I have tryed it at the 180 and it is stable for like 4 hours then fails but so far I have tryed just about every config that I can and this is the only stable one . I have to keep it under 250 as it is not stable with any thing higher that that . if you look it is at 464 MHz and that is the cap for this ram unless you have some kind of config that will net me higher MHz stable ?.

here are specs to try out for 250+. this is for VX. not sure how GX may be different. they went all the way to 3.6V with VX.
2x 512MB OCZ PC3200 Gold new BH-5 die dual channel kit
@10x 260mhz 2-2-2-6 7-16-3-3-1-2 at 3.6v
chipset = 1.6v LDT = 1.5v LDT 4x
CPC = Enabled CAS Latency(CL) = 2 RAS to CAS(Trcd) = 2 Min RAS# Active time(Tras) = 5 Row Precharge Time(Trp) = 2 Row Cycle Time(Trc) = 7 Row Refresh Cycle Time(Trfc) = 16 Row to Row Delay(Trrd) = 3 Write Recovery Time(Twr) = 3 Write to Read Delay(Twtr) = 1 Read to Write Delay(Trwt) = 2 Refresh Period (Tref) = 0648 Write CAS Latency(Twcl) = Auto DRAM Bank Interleave = Enabled Skew = AUTO Skew Value = 0 DRAM Drive Strength = Level 3 DRAM Data Drive Strength = Level 1 Max Async Latency = 7ns Read Preamble Time = 5ns Idle Cycle Limit = 256 Dynamic Counter = Enabled R/W Queue Bypass = 16x Bypass Max = 7x 32 byte Granularity = Disable(8burst)
and found some specific safe settings to start at 230, and work your way up from there:
DFI NF4, San Diego, Venice, Winchester 90nm, (130nm "Hammer" and Newcastle also) and OCZ VX or 3200 Gold/3500 Gold GX memory
200 enable 2.0 02 06 02 07 16 or 14 03 or 02 03 02 or 01 03 or 02 0648, 2560 or 3120 (0648 has worked on many systems) auto enabled auto 0 level 8 level 2 auto DRAM Respnse Time: fast or normal (as needed if your BIOS has this feature.) auto 256 disable 16 07 disable
In Genie Bios
200 and higher (start at 230mhz or so and work up)
3.3v-3.4v (up to 3.5v for Gold and Gold GX) (this will void your warranty on these products of course)
play around mostly with the TREF and Drive Strength and Max Async values, those seem to make or break overclocks.

GX is very different. Trickson's won't be doing 250, I bet. Eclipse tested this same RAM and got it to 240 something, I think. I'll go hunt for the review. http://eclipseoc.com/index.php?id=1,34,0,0,1,0OK, I'm kinda wrong, but look at the voltage needed to hit near 250. Ballistix kicks this stuff's butt big time.

yeah 250 is just not going to work with this stuff . and I don't plan on going any higher with the voltage . but I can say this I do like this RAM it realy is doing better than I thought it would . good chart there ninja and BTW I am using the timings you gave me to use ninja and they are the only ones that work . like I have said I have even tryed 2.5-3-3-8 and got nothing any thing in the 3's this ram wont boot up but I like it where it is .

Oh, no it's BH5 Silk. That thing usually shows its best around 3.5V. And best part is it doest better at 2-2-2-5, if you do anything higher it maxes out earlier.

trickson you sure you dont care about expensive RAM like that? you know OCZ's EVP policy is 3.5v+ for VX, but despite GX being the same thing, they only give you 3.0v i think for warranty... and theyll be able to tell if youre expecting RMAage.
i know its kind of unfair taht they are the same RAM modules but they give you 3.5v on the VX, but its a buyoff more than anything.
and yeah, to the original point, 434 = DDR434 = 232mhz. its not that amazing, and it certainly should not be a surprise to you. i have no idea what the red colorization means, but its not saying ZOMG FAST RAMZZ or anything

so, does this mean if the GX fails tomorrow, you'll pronounce that it sucks and nobody should buy it? my corsair will do 232mhz pretty easily, btw.

no I would not say this . I like it and so far it is good stuff . and 232 is realy good for this RAM . unless you have some magical way of getting more out of it .

232 is terrible for BH5. They max out on 2-2-2-5 somewhere between 250 and 260.
