Ok im baffled by this.

i can get the x1900xt for 275. for that price/performance ratio that kicks [content edited].

but ive been swayed into nvidia for the fact that i just like it better XD

so ive been thinking: should i get one x1900xt right now or

pick up one 7900gt now and sli later?

one 7900gt sucks in single card mode (read anandtech) but kicks x1900xt's butt when sli'ed. im thinkin about sli later when prices come down, but when will that happen? i want a good sli system.

or should i get 2x6800xt and a lanparty sli-dr expert mobo rite now instead of those? im confused.

also on the stepup program from evga: if u buy a $350 7800gt and step it up to a $350 7900gt, will the upgrade cost be $0? is that a valid card trade in? lol.

so heres a summary of the crap i just said:
Option 1) One x1900XT--$275.
Option 2) One 7900gt, sli later--$350+?
Option 3) Two 6800xt's and lanparty sli-dr expert mobo--$400.

im sorta leaning on the x1900xt setup since it is 275 bucks--but what are ur thoughts?

mIf I were you and found a deal like that I'd get the X1900XT over the 7900GTX. Cause by then there'll be more cards out that will be like a 790GTX now.

i have a better idea
buy two
trade one of them for my 7900gt
so you can compare them side by side
forget the hassle of ordering two seperate cards, and let me sort it out for you!

lol heres a tentative plan: (takes a lotta time and work, dad wont probly agree but ill see)

1) buy 2 x1900xtxes for 700 usd with tax (tax 15% in canada, [content edited]!! applies there, i think)
2)hopefully sell them for 500USD each on ebay, or set bidding at 450USD and buy it now at 500USD
3) return 700 USDollars back to my dad
4) pocket about 300USD if i sell them for 500 each
5) pay 300USD dollars for the toppa the line 7900gtx from evga (600USD)

tentative and good thing rite? hehe

lol if my cousin's friend (who works for ati) gets a job extension (his job contract expires august) then i can do the same process to get another.. or i could just wait till g80 or whatever the new nvidia chip is comes out and pick up another 7900gtx. [content edited] technology, always changing. if i do this plan, and sli the two 7900gtxes, nvidia will have like 750 core clock, 1.8ghz-2ghz memory clock, and possibly 32 pipelines, and ill be like

[content edited]!

24 pipes, 750ish oced core, 1850ish oced mem.. lol

theres like 50 reasons for every 5 to hate technology XD

you can only buy two, right?

buy two, resell one.

no matter how much money you make, you still end up spending a lot more for a card that isnt twice as good.

[content edited] dude. 275$?! and why are you comparing x1900xt with 7900gt lol. The x1900xt smokes the 7900GT and then eats it. they arent competition. it it like near 7900gtx 512mb little less. and x1900xtx is about equal competition. the 7900GT is little less performance than a x1800xt 512mb.

And [content edited]...would you have bought a x1900xt for me for 275$? just wondering lol because i just spent 295$ on a x1800xt 512mb.
