If it's not to late return to wherever you bought it from and get the 7900GT. Other than that the step-up program is always a nice feature from EVGA

Im assuming if the 7800GT cost you more than the MSRP of the 7900GT, they are just going to trade your 7800GT free of charge, right?

I doubt they'd actually give you money for the trade. Heh.

As a last resort, you could always sell off your 7800 GT on ebay and buy a 7900 GT.

But then again, the difference between the 7800 GT and 7900 GT is minimal - 5-10 frames extra? Is it really worth all the effort/money to get performance that you won't really notice? Just my thoughts if I were in this position.

its a lot more than that... a 7900gt is better than a 7900gtx (my pre-ocd 7900gt was about 10% faster than my OCd 7800gtx) and a 7800gtx is faster than a 7800gt (by how much? i am unsure, at least 20% i think right?)

its definately worth the effort, just dont spend more than about $50 making the switch.
