Mother board, AMD Thunderbird Socket A 462. Family 6 Core speed 1001.8 with a 100 bus speed and a rated 200 FSB Model GT133KT.
Manual is located at,
http://www.bcmcom.com/tech/GT133KT/GT133KT-man.pdf

I want to speed it up to at least 1300 (Adding DVD player HOPEFULLY).

Would the AMD Athlon 1400 - A1400AMS3C
1400 MHz
266 Mhz bus speed
Staggered ceramic PGA (Socket A/Socket 462)

It currently has the
AMD Athlon 1000 - A1000AMT3B
1000 MHz
200 Mhz bus speed
Staggered ceramic PGA (Socket A/Socket 462)

What would be the best chip I could get for it? ( I know it a old system, I realize it would be better to get a new PC then to update it) I just want to know what the options for this board are!.
Thanks in advance!
Enjoy, Peace!

Your current motherboard only support 100MHz fsb so a t-bird 1400/266 would not work at correct speed(1050Mhz).

A 1 GHz should have no big problem running a DVD player.

The best chip that just _might_ work in this motherboard would be a Duron 1.3GHz.
