Hey guys I'm new to the forum and to building computers in general. I've spent some time browsing a couple websites and looking for parts with the small knowledge I have on computer parts. I found a few things for my core system but needed you guys advice to first see if my parts are worth the price and good for my needs. I'm looking to spend no more than about $600 since I've already spent around $100 on a case, power supply, 250GB HD and keyboard/mouse. I'm mainly going to use the PC for music/video storage, video editing, music burning, music playing/burning and playing multiplayer games such as Warcraft, Half-Life 2 and maybe FEAR? nothing to fancy though. MSI K9N SLI Platinum Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16813130048 GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16814143049 CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16820145015 AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Orleans 2.4GHz 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16819103631You guys help would definitely be appreciated.

Seems like you will be multitasking? The dual core is a better deal. I see your budget, may be you should get the http://www.newegg.com/Product/...asp?...N82E16819103733It's a 65W, low voltage cpu. Are you going to "ever" SLI your computer system? If you are, I guess you can stick with that MSI SLI mobo. If not, you can go for an ASUS 570 MCP mobo that cost 92 dollars.

Not really going to be doing much multitasking besides burning music and surfing the web. Don't really think I'm ever going to SLI my system so maybe getting that other mobo and CPU is a better way to go.
