Is it worth for my to upgrade to a better card then I have now? Or should I wait until DX10 cards come out cheap and get one of those? I was looking at the 7600GT or 7800GT they had on Newegg for a good price..

I would go ahead and get a 7800GT cause it still hase plenty of power and will be a huge difference over your current X1300PRO. Plus I have no idea on when DX10 cards will be cheaper...

All right, but it seems as though the recertified ones on newegg are getting bad reviews.. is it worth for me to get that or should i just get a normal open box one?

since you're dealing with an HP/compaq computer here, you might want to make sure your power supply can handle a 7800GT.

Oh yeah hmm I think my dad might have a good one kicking around somewhere.. now that I'm seeing X2 3800+ S939 on newegg, which one would be the better choice? 7800GT or X2 3800+? (Performance wise)

if you're a gamer, go with the video card, if you're a multi-tasker go with the X2. Ideally, you should get both, but then you'd really need another PSU and don't count on one fitting in your case, unless your HP case is designed to ATX standards.

Hmm yeah.. I've got to think a little more about that one. What PSU do you recommend if I get just the graphics, just the processor, or both?

500w Xclio Goodpower

while it's more than you'd need, it will be something to carry over if you decide to build your own.

probably not. that enermax is a decent unit and is more than enough for your current setup.

Actually in regards to the video card, there are some reasonably priced DX10 cards (GeForce 8600 GT $150\Ultra$180) just around the corner so would personally hold off on upgrading the video card just yet.
