Zef636 Junior Member Posts: 2 Joined: 12/11/2009	I bought two Opteron 265s brand new. They came with heatsinks and fans in the box, from AMD. However, i just got two Opteron 290's OEM that didnt come with heatsinks and fans... Is it safe/Okay to use the fans and heatsinks from the 265's on the 290's? If not, what heat sinks and fans should I buy for them? Thanks

MU_Engineer Dr. Mu Posts: 1837 Joined: 08/26/2006	It should be okay, but just keep an eye on the CPU temperatures. If the temps get above about 60 C, then you will need to get bigger heatsinks for the 290s. -------------------------
