I built an AMD tower with these specifications ">http://cife.stanford.e...ki/.....ings:tower:
Class - AMD 10h AM3 Phenom II X4 975BE Quad Core, 4.0Ghz (OC)
Operating System - Server 2008R2 64 bit
System Ram - 16GB DDR3 PC3 16000 (4x4)
Motherboard - ASUS AM3 M4A87TD (non-EVO)/USB3 DDR3
Video Card - Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB
Sound Card - NA
Hard Drive - OCZ 1x REVO DRIVE 240GB PCI-E
CD-Rom Drive - NA
Network Card - NA
With a test corridor model that is nonstandard; it is in inch model space unit and has a corridor for each location, so 100 corridors and 60MB total - the machine is slow. From my experience, the Revo Drive, 2000Mhz memory, and lowering to CAS7 were the biggest gains. But, I do not have an answer to your question, though I'd also like to know the answer.
