AMD 2600+ Barton 1.9Ghz FSB333
copper heatsink
512MB Kingston RAM DDR333
Abit KV7 systemboard, VIA KT600 chipset
Heroichi super-midi steel case, 2x120mm fans
350w PSU
Nvidia MX440 graphics card 64MB
120GB SerialATA Maxtor HDD
Pioneer DVDROM
Plextor CDRW
UPS 600VA
128kbit 24x7 net connection
SuSE Linux 9.1 Professional operating system
19" TFT
no floppy!

This is my home webserver (apache/mysql/php) for my hardware site. While searching for hosting solutions I very soon understood it would be much cheaper and easier to setup my own server here at home, at least as long the traffic does not saturate the 128kbit link.

surely it wouldn't be ok to use this machine in a corporate environment with high-availability / high-reliability requirements, but it is more than enough for a home server, considering the budget is low and it's more fun to operate your own server!

Sometime I will upgrade the PSU and maybe the UPS to ensure more reliable operation.

The server runs 24x7 the MPrime research software ( http://www.mersenne.org' ">http://www.mersenne.org ). The machine's name is Osiris There are two nice stickers on the front part of the case, one is the SuSE's sticker at the top, and the other is the AMD's sticker at the bottom.

The server is placed on a manually-built metallic desk. next to it there is my second machine and the TFT (which servers both machines). My bed isn't away from the desk
