I've managed to get some Opteron 852 Processors as well and I'm well on my way to getting these things going.

Does anyone know where I can download a manual for an A8440? Or, can anyone tell me what the memory requirements are? I've got one that won't post. I know it used to work and I suspect I may not have the right memory or right configuration. I've got 8, 128 MB DDR sticks in it, two per proc. Does it require ECC or registered RAM? Is there a requirement as to which slots are populated?

I've got an A8440 with 4 885's in it, but with PQTDX0-D bios. Does anyone have a copy of the PQTDX0-E BIOS that they would be willing to share?

http://carme.pld-linux.org/~arekm/celestica-A8440/ - some A8440 docs.

I'm also looking for latest celestica bios that was available (PQTDX0-E probably).

I still have the system, but I never found an update for the bios. I ended up using the dual core procs in a Sun V40z and putting single core procs in the Celestica. It still has version PQTDX0-D on it. If you want that version and know of a utility that will dump the bios to a file, I'll be glad to get a copy to you.

The utility is Phoenix Winphlash or phlash16.exe for DOS, run it and save a backup copy of bios. Phlash16 is better.
PQTDX0-D newer than I have
