I have just upgraded from a XP2600+ to this piece of kit hoping to see a big difference in speed but at the moment i cant see it.i hope this was a wise move!!! I ran 3dmark05 and only got 2449...is this good? I have not touched any of the settings (too scared) and my cpu temp is 45c and i'm not doin anything!! my last processor used to run at 29-31c ------------------------- AMD64 3200+ Winchester (939) (Upgraded 05Feb05) with stock heatsink & fan MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum(939) (Upgraded 05Feb05) 1Gb OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Platinum (Upgraded 30June05) Radeon 9800Pro IceQ (Upgraded 21may04) SOUNDBLASTER AUDIGY PLATINUM 680GB HARD DRIVES (2xIDE 2XSATA) NEC 2510 & 3500 D/L DVD BURNERS WINDOWS XP PRO Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Case Hiper Type-R Series 480W Power Supply

Megadeth Senior Member Posts: 7822 Joined: 08/14/2004	It depends on the apps you are using. You won't see much of a difference if all you do is simple word processing. If you do things like gaming, then you should see a big diff. I'm not familiar with 3dmark but maybe somone else can explain that score cause I am clueless.

B4 it used to auto detect at everything medium quality, but now everything is ultra high. Cant wait to try Doom III. merlin371 Alpha Geek Posts: 2985 Joined: 02/24/2004	try and run more benchmars on it I have pretty much the same system as your and I think I get around that on 3dmark05 I forget at the moment, try and run aquamark you should get around 45K I think
