What specs do you want for an db server (2-4 opterons)?
I want some configuration suggestions
mb, memory, hdds , cpus ,tape streamer

What DB are you going to be running? How big is the DB expected to be?

Is this a production machine or a testbed?

What sort of databases are you running? Are they data warehouses or transactional systems?

What OS are you planning to use?
