I currently have an Athlon64 3000+ which is used for programming. How much faster at compiling applications would the Opteron 175 be? I primarily compile using Cygwin, VC++6.0 and VS2005. In particular, one full compile under cygwin takes about 35 minutes to compile. What sort of time might I expect from the Opteron 175?

Thanks for any input.

The 175 is dual core (right) well should be faster although you run into some problems with making sure that the programs work correctly.

165 are best for oc and cheaper than the 175's btw the 3000 isn't dual core. SO it's going to be a [content edited] of a lot slower than the 175 or 165
