Ok so im going to build a workstation, for video editing, photshop, gaming, terragen, and mabye Maya/3ds max.

I have been discussing stuff with my uncle for about a week, and he says it's better to go with 2 socket 940 opteron's rather then 1 socket 939 dual core opteron, that would be overclocked to 2.7Ghz.

Which would be better? Like price to performance wise.

CPU (That i'm looking at) -

Motherboard -
Would that work well for OCing, and will it support DDR 500 RAM? Also i was looking at SATA II controller cards on newegg, and there cheapest one only does 1.5Gb, which is only half of what SATA II is capable of, so what does this motherboard's SATA II connector's run at?

Video Card -
This card is fine for gaming and stuff so im getting that, but will it also do rendering well. I know not as well as like say a Quadro or whatnot, but will it do decent.

I was thinking one stick for the time being, and another when i get the cash.

HD -
I'm gonna get 2 of those and run them in RAID 0 i think. Is it worth it to run RAID 0?

About there HDs there OEM, so what will i need to connect them to the motherboard (i never messed with SATA HDs before so i need to know what connector thing i have to get).

So would that be a decent/good workstation build, for a limited budget?
