I have to build a Windows 2000 server, /sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /> With that said, I need to find the best dual cpu unit I can find to work with 2000 server. I was looking at the AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4400+. I having a hard time finding information about the X2 and 2000 server.
System specs as of now: ASUS Model A8N-E mainboard AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4400+ 2 Gb ddr400 ram 4 x WD740GD sata HDs in raid 0+1 config Geforce 6200TC supporting 256MB (64MB Onboard) PCI Express Video Card
Does any one have a suggesstion for this system and how will windows 2000 server like the this configuration?

Opteron 165 if you're using it as a real server with lower CPU overhead than most workstations, Opteron 170 if you're going to need a tad more grunt.
And please, for the love of chocolate, do NOT get a TurboCRAP card. They vampire system RAM without actually telling you that they do. Get a basic 6200 normal video card and be happy.

My add on question to all of this. Will Windows 2000 server use an amd athlon 64 x2 processor correctly? There's no drivers for windows 2000 on the x2 driver page.
