After taking off the tape things are not as bad as I thought, still not good but not as bad. Here are some more pics:

Here you can see where the paint leak through the tape a bit... good thing about this is that I was thinking of painting the top of the grill too. And after looking at the angle shots (last pic in this post) I think it will look even better. Picture the black 230mm under it

So all in all a work in progress and things may come together with a 3rd coat and some sanding

Awesome job Slayer, amazing you can power your entire system with a 520W PSU.

Just goes to show you the quality built in Corsair PSU's.

I think I am pushing the limit on the 520 though... I does not run hot or fast, but I just have the sinking feeling that a new PSU should be my next move. I have had a couple of un-expected power-off type reboots over the last few months, but nothing I can replicate, and it could be dirty power from my building...

However I do think a more robust PSU will be on the menu very soon just to put my mind too rest.

Thinking of this one right now:
SeaSonic X750 Gold 750W ATX12V V2.3/EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

AWESOME! DIFFERENT! VERY GOOD! The Black and White themes have been used to death, and funny thing is now that I went with a red and white theme for my rig I have notices more and more rigs are using the same colors. ( I don't mean to imply that they copied me, more that I just didn't pay attention to the color schema until I did it) Cant wait for you to get it wrapped up. PM me and I will help ya get this into the AMD Forum Rig Of the Month competition for the month of May.

Oh so the truth, but the best part about modding cases, I think, it the learning something new each time you do one. It could be, remembering to clean and dry before painting, where to cut holes for new fans, ect. case modding like this takes on a form of art. Before my case mods, we purely for function, with no regard to how it would look afterwords. I build my Black Widow, and now I cant wait to build again. Just so I can mod again.........

Yeah spent hours over many days looking at spray paint and trying to figure out how it would look before purchasing... Thought about what I see all the time, and tried to figure out what would look good with any color motherboard... The hammered copper just seemed to fit all the things I was thinking about. At about $10 CDN per can you want to be sure before hand. 3 cans in (2 hammered copper and 1 satin black) and I am sure I will need to get one more for when I fianlly get the time to do a touch up. I need to get some sand paper as well to remove the "runny" spots and try and get those parts perfect.

So even just a simple paint job and color scheme can be expensive. 5 Black SATA Cables, 1 SATA-Molex power adapter (The HX520 only came with 4 SATA power connectors), painters tape, black electrical tape, 4 cans of paint and sand paper... but it is worth it, and very enjoyable to do

Got the 3rd can of paint and some sandpaper... now just waiting for a good weather day to do the work on the finish of this paintjob

Also on a side note... Just ordered a Corsair HX750 PSU from my buddy with the great prices... should have it on Friday. It will be $165 TOTAL (taxes, shipping etc., etc...) Far too good a deal to let pass.

Did a little more work this weekend. Some simple-ish stuff... Subtle but I think subtle done well is much better than flashy done poorly. Basically painted all the mesh on the front the hammered copper

The modding bug has certainly bit me hard, my birthday is coming up and I have some ideas planned for my Antec 900 and an older case of mine so when my wife asks em what I want I will just give her a list and give her the web address for frozen PC. I got a new camera for my borthday last year so I will have pics and no crappy cellphone ones.

So I have done many things to my system since I last posted to this thread... So here are some new pics of my ongoing mod/hobby... enjoy

This pic shows the DIMM slots... I have never been a big fan of the colour, but once I put the UV Cold Cathodes in they actually look stunning now!

Look at those suckers glow!

Even the SATA ports stand out! I had purchased the Cathodes to get my IceQ5 to glow, but this is a pleasant bonus!

Stunning How this card glows in the UV light! And these CC's were not very expensive at all, wish I had done this a long time ago!

So this is my baby as it stands now.... I am seriously thinking of sleaving the wires in some UV sensitive stuff... But I do believe that won't be cheap, I will investigate though. If anyone has some sites I should look at please direct me to them.

So it's been over a year since I started this. And boy has things changed! I was looking at The Monster HTPC as she was at the top of this thread and there have been a lot of changes:

Corsair HX520 is now Corsair HX750
Have a new Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard
    4x500GB RAID0 is now 3x500GB RAID0 w/ a 2TB Hitachi (used to be the external backup)
IGP HD330 is now an HIS IceQ 5 Radeon HD 5770 Turbo 1GB
Creative SB Audigy 2ZS is now Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro
    Added two UV CCT's
And the electrical type sleeving has been replaced with some ThermalTake UV Blue sleeving

The sleeving was a serious pain in the arse since I did not have an ATX Pin tool... and I was mashing a tiny precision screw driver into them to get them out... I did eventually figure out the staple trick and things went a lot smoother, but this first one.... UGH!. Look at the time stamps on these pics to get an idea how brutal the process was for my first sleeving attempt without a tool!

That was just a CH under 3 hours to get that plug off the PCI-e power cord!

As I said, this went much smoother for the fans, molex and SATA cables. And the two SATA power cables (with ATX style pins) went progressively easier until I mastered the staple trick and then it was a breeze.

So without further ado here she is today!

Thanks for reading... I love my baby... The Monster HTPC is a work in progress

Wow, what a transformation, awesome job QB, very nice work indeed.
I don't have the patience or time to mess with cable sleeving, but man, you did a great job with it.
Please don't enter your rig in this months contest, I will lose to you for sure.

Thanks Dood!! I was blown away myself when I pulled up those old phone cam pics I took while I was building the computer after getting my HAF 932... massive changes! Not the least being the fact that I finally got a descrete GPU

I really would hate to tally up the cost of these 18+ months of upgrades and work
