This is my first mod and I would love criticism. Even if its "hey dood, it sucks".

I used my dremel tool to cut out a circle on two of my CD bays. Then I mounted a fan in there, one that glows blue. Then I cut out a metal grill off an old cd player I had and rigged it onto it. So I guess without wasting any more time Ill post pics

//edit, putting in links for the pics.

The inside' ">http://www.geocities.com/sephe...3/COMPINSIDEtheory.jpg

The front' ">http://www.geocities.com/sepheroth003/COMPFRONT.jpg

The first one just shows what it looks like from the front. I like it because it glows blue, kind of a neat effect. The second picture shows the inside of my computer. I have 2 intake fans in the front and the one exhaust in the back. Seems to work really well, the top fan that I modded in there seems to really brush the air off the CPU straight to the exhaust. Anyways the highest temp Ive seen is after playing HL2 for 3 hours and it was 27 degrees C. So I think its pretty nice, now I want to overclock

Sorry the pictures suck, my stepmoms camera isnt as good as mine and I left mine at aunts house on vacation.

Looks nice ... you could use one of those alien fan girls to put in front of yr case on the fan, how much did this system bring down yr PC temps ??

I think it is a great first mod.
Very similar airflow to my HTPC.

I think it looks great. Can you snap a picture with the room lights on so we can see the front of the case better?

Is there a way to paint or mod the rest of the front so it matches the fan mod?

What would you paint to match the fan? The front of my case and everything is black except my 2 drives. The fan glows blue through a black grill.

I looked quickly at fan grills and didnt see any that I thought looked real cool. So If you have a link Ill take a look, but for now I just made my own.

Thanks for the opinions. I think it took the temps down about 10C. Seemed to really help.

Greetings,

Great idea. I drilled out several vent holes in the blank cover in front of one hard drive & top-mounted a hard drive fan. The master HD was mounted in a mail-order mini 3-fan slot assembly (slotted grill removed, blank drilled, airflow blowing in). It kept me up to 6 C cooler with minor OC'ing (nobody knows what OC means - haha).

Peace,
gj

Thats great design of case fans arrangement.
I think you should tidy up all your cables, they block the flow.
Or you can buy some "Air-Duct" to make the flow directly in to the hottest place of your case.
Cheers
