My system is a 4 yr old 'Mesh' (made in UK), with a Socket A, ASUS 7V m/b with AMD 1Ghz CPU (not sure if Athlon or Duron?) and I want to upgrade to a faster CPU.
Q1. Is this possible?
Q2. What do I need to know?
Q3. Where do I get it from?
I'm very new to computing and need advice.

Q1 depends... ASUS has a quite a few 7V motherboards
A7V880 -> supports all AthlonXPs up to 3200+
A7V600 -> Supports All AthlonXPs up to 3200+
A7V600-X -> Supports All AthlonXPs up to 3200+
A7V8X-MX SE -> Supports AthlonXP up to 3000+ (333FSB)
A7V400-MX -> Should Support All AthlonXPs up to 3200+
A7V8X-MX -> Supports AthlonXP up to 3000+ (333FSB)
A7V8X-X -> Supports AthlonXP up to 2700+
A7V333-X -> Supports AthlonXP up to 2700+
A7V333 -> Should Support up to a 2Ghz AthlonXP according to their site. so a 2400+
A7V8X -> Athlon XP 3000+ i guess (DDR333)

Q2 not sure.

Q3 a computer store should be nice.. America.. newegg should be a good place..
