hi every body

i`m new in the forum and i don`t know if someone can help me .
i have an old pc year 2001 and i want to upgrade it ,this is my specs
chipset sis 730s soket a with a duron 900 mhz, 256 sdram pc 133
i want to upgrade to a newer cpu i want to know if this moderboard can support an
athlon xp ,if yes please tell me more

Looks like you max on the Athlon Thunderbird cores that run on 266 FSB.

Here are some possibilities, since your not going to find these "new" (more than likely:

This should give you an idea of how much you are looking at to upgrade your machine.

My pc came with an AMD Duron 1300Mzh, sis730 chipset, PC133 SDRAM (512Mb), AGP slot, 3-PCI slots. I upgraded the cpu with AMD Duron 1800Mzh purchased from Newegg (less than $50). The system recognizes it as Athlon XP 2200. It clocks at 1800Mzh and works like a dream. I may upgrade my mobo with the prospect of later on upgrading to Athlon XP 3200.
