Hey, i fried the led in my backlight temp display, the display still works just the led is gone.. anyone ever replaced one of these? figure its just a fairly simple solder right?
I can either get the replacement LED from aspire, but since they don't actually deal with customers i'd have to pay them in stamps. haha i thought that was funny.. but yeh or otherwise i guess i could take it apart and then try and match the LED, or do some mod and put in a 5mm led instead, heh, dunno if this would require any other additions like a resistor .

anyways if any has similar experience drop a message

Should be able to. It's cool since they don't cost a real loat and are all preset with the resistor in place. Don't think it's the way to go though if your using alot of LED's then you would probably be better off to make your own. I have two that I am using for my resivoir now.

yeh if i order anything i'll get one with a tail and then the other ones too.. i'm trying to find a good canadiansite for that stuff but not having any luck...

see shipping isn't too bad, but if i have it shipped UPS which is fairly fast, a few days, there's a 20 dollar brokerage fee, if i have it shipped USPS about same cost, but very slow delivery, but there's no brokerage fee,, which is kinda nice when your only buying a couple bucks stuff. heh

searched the site, only found about 30 dollars w orth of stuff i could use for mods. heh. so we'll see i guess
