I'm in the process of attempting my first ever OC of my AMD 64 3000+. Currently I've got the divider set to 200:100 for the purpose of pushing up the HT clock (now at 225) and the HT multiplier set to x4. I've also upped the voltage from 1.4V to 1.425V.

I'm running Prime95 blend test and it's doing a loada Lucas-Lehmer things at various sizes. Guessing it's doing the right thing? How long does it run for, or is it infinite?

Anyway, it's been running for over a hour and my CPU temp's gone up to 49C and dropped back to 48C, depending on the exact iteration. This seems high to me - isn't 50C the max for a Venice core? What'll happen if it reaches 50C?

50 it blows up lol nah. i have a x2 4200 with zalman and p180 case. i oced only 100mhz so its at 2.3ghz (1.365 v) and my temps are when running prime 95 and super pi 47-48c. so i guess thats ok? but some people say single cores should be cooler then dual. as for prime 95 it runs 24/7 i believe unless u specify how long for it to run

I've your CPU at stock speeds - when running Prime95 and SuperPI concurrently temp goes up to 45C (idle 32). Your overclock is the higher temp and maybe a bad case airflow.

However, I agree with David, 50C is not a problem!

let prime 95 run for 12hours plus and if now errors then everything is fine, as for the temp 50c sounds right. remember if its still stable at those temps then things are okay.
