ok, this is the issue.

my machine is a athlon 3200+ skt 939
1.2gb pc 3200 ram
ati 128mb shared video
400w power supply
msi 7390? motherboard

the problem is the card won't install right, the screen flickers on windows desktop, and when i try to run a game, it won't run right. there are lines across the screen and it freezes.
i tried working with tech support.
it didn't fix anything.
they had me run a driver cleaner and install new driver, tried all three, one on disc, 91.47 and 91.31.
i even let windows have a shot at doing it itself.
nothing worked.


HELP!


any suggestions would be welcome, as at this point i am thinking i need to send the card back for a new one, and i really wanted to play this weekend.

This may seem trivial but make sure the monitor is plugged into the videocard, not the intergrated one. Also, check the in BIOS to see if you disabled the intergrated video.

If this doesn't work post back.

I edited my post for better clarification, I was saying check the BIOS to see if you disabled the intergrated video, which you said is disabled.

Go into device manager (right click my computer, properties, hardware tab, device manager) and check for yellow "?"s.

Another common problem is sometimes people don't plug in the extra power connector on the card, which will cause the card to not work, or perform very poorly and be unstable. If that still isn't the problem then a reformatt might be in order to clear out all the driver junk. If not that STILL it's conflicting hardware.
