Alrighty guys, this isn't exactly a computer mod, but it's for my computer desk, so I guess it qualifies for this section.

I just recently bought the G15 keyboard, and I like how futuristic it appears. Now I'm thinking of covering my desk in gun metal checker plate. Dunno if I should bolt it down, rivet it down, or just stick it.

Anyone have some decent ideas?

Bolting would be my choice, easier to remove if needed. Rivets would be my next choice, as they can be removed, but they need to be cut out to do it. I wouldn't even consider glueing it down, too permanent.

Also, I'd strongly recommend using aluminum; the steel stuff is way too heavy for my tastes. Plus, the aluminum is far and away easier to work with.

Just don't weld it without a respirator.

Alright, I've decided to use aluminium checker plate, paint it first, and then rivet it down.

Bolts are going to stick out on the surface too much. It won't ever get removed, so rivets are okay.

This only works if it's not the "sportsman" p90... No p90 looks good with a long barrel... bleh...

That is a really cool idea. I love the keyboard too. So sexy. Not really in budget though, heh.

Wow... how much is the aluminum? It is MUCH lighter, but it is a heck of a lot more expensive.
