I have X2 4200+ going at 2.9GHz per core up from 2,2Ghz (HT is 4). VERY pleased with it. Thats about 33% rise in perf sue to overclocking.

I want to add more juice and I could afford X2 5600. This seems to run standard 2.8GH'z per core.

My question is :

Will I be able to get 30% overclocking performance increase from a 5600 ? or is there some kind of invisible GHz barrier that I will hit no matter what processor I buy.

Anyone overclocked a 5600 and got any results ?

move ive ever see a amd get to was 3.2ghz

there probably are higher but if you use that as guideline

I don't mind going to watercooling if needed - in fact I quite fancy it.
