To start things off...I apologize for the crappy photo quality. All I have is my phone
This is my first time experimenting with liquid cooling. I have been running air for quite a while and have built quite a few systems on air only but never even thought about LC. I noticed my temps were getting fairly high while gaming so I decided to look at alternatives.
You can check out my rig specs in my sig.
To start off I purchased a Corsair 800D case. Every forum post and thread I read about liquid cooling pointed me in the direction of this case. I must say it is more than I expected. The size is absolutely huge and the cable management is top notch.
Lol don't mind the pink laptop bag in the back, the gf has taken over some of my man cave!
Here is a shot of all of my main components.
I have since RMA'd the pump and res because I was having one helluva time finding a place to mount both that I was happy with. I have since purchased http://www.frozencpu.com/produ...ay_Reservoir_Pump.html
and I must say it is working exceptionally well. The water flow is phenomenal and the pump is very quiet.
I decided to build the loop outside of the case and test it that way to make sure everything ran correctly. I ran into some problems with tubing size, fitting size, etc. because I didn't pay attention when I was ordering things but everything is all good now
And this is how I tested it out of the case
Here is a close up of the inside with the res/ pump and the tubing with some anti-kink I had to purchase.
The front with the fan speed controller. Is there a benefit to setting up the temp sensors?
And the case with the side panel off. I also have a blue cathode set up on the door but I am having a hard time finding a way to route the wires and keep them concealed.
Let me know what you guys think! Don't mind the mess, this was finished last night and I was just not in the mood to clean the room. I have ran some temps and I must say I am VERY pleased with the way it turns out. With the processor OC'd to 3.8 it never gets above 38*C in Prime95, which is a lot cooler than the old 60* C it used to hit with the fan and heatsink.
Any suggestions or advice, please throw it my way. This was my first build and I am always looking for ways to improve.
