To {OLD}agile:

What is the purpose of that plastic tube with that green stuff in it? I've never seen that b4.

He is running water cooling. The green stuff is like anti-freeze for your car. The tubes connect to a water block that sits on top of the processor like a heatsink. The heat is transferred from the CPU to the block. Water runs through the block to remove the heat. Instead of just running solid water, you can run a mixture of water and coolant which is more effective at removing the heat.

You will also note that he has a block on the chipset and graphics card so his water cooling is cooling down all 3 parts.

Thanks for the help there Java - Java about summed it up.

Ummm, I had no idea this thread was moved. I guess the mods split up the galleries since they were getting big. I just came across it otherwise I would have responded to your replies earlier.

I wish that it was neater, but it is a cramped case. the case is alright, but not as good as the reviews stated IMHO. I like the Lian-Li's and Silverstones.

I have a bunch of Swiftech stuff lying around, a Lian-Li PC-V2000B case (which is gargantuan) and a Silverstone Temjin ST-J03 not doing anything at all. I was going to transfer this stuff into the LIan-Li case and get a Asus a8n board and some 6800 Gts (pci-e) and make a new rig, but parts are scarce right now.

I broke down and bought a Voodoo f:5 even though I already have 2 desktops and a lappy. I am selling this one to my bud but I may just put it into the LL case. Dunno yet.

So for the time being my DIY projects are on hold since I can barely use all my systems anyway.

Thinking about taking people's offers on building them desktops and notebooks. Building your own lappy is not that hard but far more delicate. You learn a great deal.

Thank you for the kind words. Sorry it seemed as though I was ignoring you. You won't even believe the shock when I saw "Gallery {OLD}agile."

What the?

Oh man, oops. temps are about 29 idle and 34-38 load depending on the game (I believe). For this case I used the Corsair/Hydrocool 2000ex whihc is a low-flow system but good for extenal systems. I am much more partial to separate components now and have gotten much better in the design. I don't really need phase change or peltier. You guys should try WC if you haven't. I'll be gald to answer any questions that I know being that I am still a noob.

Hope your holidays were nice.
