a little over a year agao i ordered my first assemble at home computer (ussually i just special ordered through local companies, but they all shut down) i wanted a 64 processor but they were seriously costly....so i laid up and built a 32 atholon 3200+, which my freind helped me build.... heat issues soon drove me to a full size antec case, which had a window, so i put light's all inside and was happy.......fast forward to a few month's agao when i ordered a couple of sepron system's one for my dad and the other for a ut server i'm working on getting up, i happened to take a look at the 64 prices and they had fallen down to where i was waiting for them, very next day i happened to buy a p.c. modder mag and realised that just adding light's wasn't going to cut it this time, and i started searching for inspiration.....didn't take long as i was wondering the forum's for the owners club for my car (04 srt-4

)... and boom the tunner puter was born.
this computer is going to come fully loaded drawing inspiration from the car tuneing comunity. --warning the modding comunity and the tunneing comunity are both know for going overboard, mixing them goes way further then that

like any good tuner we're gunna start with a intercooler. in car's they are used to cool and compress the intake air - since i was adding it for visual's in the theme i also decided that it could be functional too.....drawing in with two 80 mm fan's up front-- then being routed through the intercooler which will have two 120 mm fan's blowing through the IC and out the case -and to a single 80mm dumping the cooled air onto the cpu water block.....i'm not expecting more then a couple of degree drop, but again any functionality is better then noneat all....the system will have a water cooling system that i'l describe later.
i started with a transmission radiator for a 99 neon.
and then i cut off the tube ends and ripped out the innards to allow for the air flow
at this point it'll be going with my dad to his factory to have the end's fabricated...once it's done i'll run the case with and without the IC and record temp's just to see if it does any good.
as for the case, i'll show before i explain...
i got a full tower uneec which is exactly like my old antec right down to the brand of fans that came with it....so i bought a knock off for $30 cheaper

front
side ( i noticed some cloaths on the t.v.'s so i painted over them for you)
and here it is tore down and ready to go for powder coating - (yes powder coating)
ok let's start with the frame...tuner's have some sick obsession of powder coating part's that you have to make an effort to show people...i.e. engine block, valve cover, etc ( yes i fall into this catigory too)...so to reflect this i am powder coating the frame of the case glossy black....not only will the black absord any wayword lighting and giveing an open fealing inside the case, the back end will also have a very unique look.
then in the true spirit of tuneing, i am going to mold the rest of the case and make all the pannel's out of carbon fiber....besides useing carbon fiber hood's and trunk's for look's, many tunners also use them for major weight reduction........since the AL. pannels already weigh nothing, i will honestly say this will add no functionality what's so ever - but it has to be part of the theme so there!
to finish off the theme based vanity mod's, i will be installing a musketeer, however i will be re-locateing the guages into a tri-guage a-piller that is all the rage...
here's a double in action
for water cooling i will be going with a 300 gph inline pump, cd drive resivuare, a heater core mounted on the top with two 120 mm fan's for the main radiator (saw it in p.c. modder mag, looks sick), then feading into a two outlet cpu water block...each outlet will go to fan mounted radiator's on the back, one of which will then go to the MB chip, while the other will hit the video card.... then both back to the two inlets in the resivure...... all waterblocks will be danger dan copper waterblock's with clear plastic top's - little uv active green dye for that coolent look and we're all set.
now for the good stuff.......a 500W Ultra Modula ATX PSU with chrome cabel sleaves, an amd 64 athlon 3800+ 939, with an Abit AV8, 2 gig ram (i had picked kingston, but i read bad things here, so i'll get something else)... and to top it off -- nVIDIA GeForce 6800 - 256
i will keep up date's as things go....the frame goes for powdercoating tomarrow, everything else that i don't already have will be on order before friday.
