Im hoping you turned that HSF fan around so its blowing off the HS and not on....you, my friend, would then have fans fighting for air.....

also, that CANT help air flow......

EEEEEEEEEEEEK, Turn that fan you have on your HS around and have it blowing on it, then remove that stupid "tube" of a transfer palce and put a fan in that blowing on it.....thats what I did....28c idle 39 ful load........dont fight it, that is definatly not helping to be honest......its basically confusing the fan on the HS and making it work harder to get nothing done....sigh

Actually the air duct can work fairly well. Case and point.

Yeah, it does BV. Not too many people have been able to run Palomino 2100+ processors (arguably the hottest running socket A parts made, 60's for mid-load is not uncommon) at 39C idle, 42C load.

At least, not without spending a lot of money on cooling.

So I am the ONLY one who thinks that two fans facing the opposite directions whcih are fightin for air, doesn't make it hard for the CPU to be cool?

I would recommend turning both fans on the processor and blowing even harder air on the CPU, then put a fan where that duct is blowing onto the CPU as well....

R3sil3, the fan on the CPU's heatsink is blowing ONTO the heatsink. With the side duct, that effectively makes it an intake fan. The fan on the back of the case is blowing air out of the case. He also mentions that he added a cheap 80mm intake fan to the front of the case. This is one of the most effective and well-done setups on air.

Simply put, it does. I use one on my XP-M, and it, along with a $3 80mm fan dropped temps significantly.
