I've played, fixed and completed S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky yesterday. I can say that the game is good (in story, action, feeling) and some other aspects. The only super-problem are bugs. Even fully patched, the game still has critical issues that prevent you from playing.
The main two problems are the xCore.dll crash that happens due to bad script calls (like indexing a null value) and the 'move to next level' option that does not work, even if your mission is to go there.
Anyway, I fixed everything I encountered (by extracting the script files and editing them), so if you have xCore.dll crashes or the next level access problem, post here and I'dd give you the fixed files so the game will work.

Here's the file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/14...medata.zip.html

Just extract the content into your S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky installation directoy.

After that, enter the game and go to the location. The level will now change and you can proceed forward.

This bypasses 3 different xCore.dll crash situations by blanking the crasher functions:
http://rapidshare.com/files/145764115/scripts.zip.html
Use it only if you have crashes.

hey dude. Did you ever encounter a problem with the smart_terrain.script, which happens whenever you try and load a savegame (cant even get ingame) ?

smart_terrain.script:227: attempt to index local 'obj' (a nil value)

to be exact.

If you found a way to fix this I would be in your debt forever man I've tried everything, dozens of scripts from the official forums, reinstalling.
I'm using a fixed _g.script already btw

appreciate ur help!

I have the same problem as Garbage posted. First it happened with the 1.5.03 Russian version running on XP. Then I started a new game with the 1.5.04 English Steam release on Vista DX10. In both cases it's when I reach the Military Warehouses and then save a game.
I'm ripping hair out here!! I have saves in Red Forest but still can't get past this.

garbage, upload the _g.script file you are currently using and I'll double-fix it.

Milwaukee, I'll upload a fixed file for exactly your problem.

m-unit, please provede me with the crash log (from the zip report file in your user folder). Anyway,in your case it seems to be a driver problem rather then a game one.

Hey dude, first off all I appreciate you taking ur time to help man very kind of you not many people would do this!

I actually tried using another _g.script and this solved my problem, but only ONCE!
now everytime I try and load my saves I'm stuck at Syncronizing. (left it for 25 minutes even).
Rebooting is the only way to shut it off too lol.

Have you ever encountered this problem? Maybe its due to the _g.script? (wouldnt think so, since it worked once? :S)
Here it is just for the sake ; http://www.megaupload.com/?d=542ZV38S

Cheers man!

A bad script file can do something like that.
Did you try to remove the file and try with the original one (it's loaded by default if you remove the new one) ?

Anyway, I'll analyze your files when I get to my HQ (in about 2h).

Okay dude thanks!
Yeah if I remove it I get the same old error;

_g.script:975: bad argument #2 to 'format' (string expected, got nil)

Also an weird bug happens everytime I launch the game after the PC has been turned off.

Expression : fatal error
Function : mem_usage_impl
File : E:\priquel\sources\engine\xrCore\memory_usage.cpp
Line : 156
Description : <no expression>
Arguments : bad node in heap

Not sure if this is something worth mentioning though as the second time (and after that) the game launches fine. Just thought I'd mention incase

Cheers1

This is the script re-fix for garbage:
http://rapidshare.com/files/14...ipts_g.zip.html

I've modified your file that looks already very modified; I've only added the fix for that specifc error.

And this is for Milwaukee:
http://rapidshare.com/files/14...pts_st.zip.html

garbage, you might want to get the second file too, if you experienced terrrain script errors.

If you try to load your save games and they don't work, try a previous save, as it will not crash at the same location.

m-unit, I've checked; you have indeed a video driver / DX / render problem.
You should install other video drivers and try to reset the game settings since your error is actually not a game error.
