Australia's Classification Board has developed a reputation in recent years for its draconian stance on violence in games. This week, the Classification Board effectively banned Sega and Rebellion's Aliens vs. Predator by refusing to grant it an MA 15+ rating, the highest allowable for games. According to the board's decision, AVP's depiction of "explicit decapitation and dismemberment as well as locational damage" was a primary factor for the game's ban.

Well, we're about 3 weeks away from release, and I thought I'd paste this here in case anyone thought that this game wasn't an ATI game but rather a TWIMTBP game.

As of the 18th of December, Sega have successfully won the bid on the classification of the game in Australia. "It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal," says Darren Macbeth, managing director of Sega Australia. "We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever. This is a big win for Australian gamers. We applaud the Classification Review Board on making a decision that clearly considers the context of the game, and is in line with the modern expectations of reasonable Australians."

The violence is fantastical in nature and justified by the context of the game, set in a futuristic science-fiction world, inhabited by aliens and predators.
I play Alien and hunt marines.

man its ***** awesome, playing as aliens, killing humans, but I just love playing as a predator, killing aliens and humans is wayy more orgy awesome HUAAA!

Playing Predator is way too easy. The marines are sitting ducks and Aliens did not benefit of a sufficiently worthy AI in AvP 2 to be e big thread either. It's like shooting fish in the fish tank...
Hopefully we'll se a worthy AI this time.

Oh don't worry, they said they had to scale back the aliens in the game, but they do have a special game mode that lets them run full out fo more of a challenge.

Just played the multiplayer demo on steam. DX9 only, but it looks really good and plays smooth even on my old setup. It's definitely an ATI game, so you should all be good to go to enjoy awesome frame rates and green blood goodness.
I wish there was a single-player demo though, but I like it so far.

I was the alien the whole time I played. They aren't quite as fast as in the old game, but makes things more fair for each race.

Kind of why I want to see how the single-player campaigns will be like and if you can unlock the aliens to be faster and better like they mentioned...
