Ok Ive about had it with this game.
I know others here have had troubles too so I thought we might put all our thoughts in one place other than the asrock thread.

Heres my deal-
Ive played through the SP without one crash at 4ghz never a problem. Played for hours straight never a crash.

Started playing online and usually half a hour to an hour in crash sometimes no BSOD other times random BSOD's never the same.

Went down on my oc to 3.875 since I couldnt pass prime95 at 4ghz but passed OCCT 12hours and Everest for 24 hours at 4ghz.

So i thought Prime95 was showing my weak link well I ran Prime for 18hours last night and no errors.

Jump into the game thinking alright finally I should be good...........
Ya right 20 minutes in crash something dx1sg bsod.

Im at my wits end with this game Im a a fresh os install along with all drivers games up to date Ive checked all my P's and Q's

Im verifing my games cache with steam right now. Then going to move on to downloading updates for dx11 and checking all other drivers.

NOTHING else crashes my system I mean NOTHING!!!

Im going to run system at stock and my god if it crashes Im done with it

3.75 Ghz, that is this games sweet spot.

I to have had problems with this game until I drop my OC to 3.75 Ghz then it all goes away.

I have 5 other games like this and I have 51 games that play fine @ 4 Ghz.

Just one of them things I guess.

Once I dropped my OC to 3.75 Ghz this game no longer crashes my system.

Did it ever crash on you in single player?
Thats what makes it so odd to me its only when online

both yes.

on line and single.

Like I said once I found my sweet spot for this game it all went away for me. game plays smooth and crash free now.

I do have a small handful of games that do the same thing, 51 others run fine @ 4 Ghz.

No clue why, best guess is it has something to do with how it is codded and how it uses the CPU.

I play nighly and believe me, there's no other CPU stress test like BFBC2 that I'm aware of.
From what I've tested & seen, you can be completely stable with Everest and Prime, but fail miserably in BFBC2.
Right now I'm completely stable at 3.838GHz (1.45v) with BFBC2.
I can play the game at 3.876GHz, but at 1.4875v, the CPU just runs too hot (50-51c) for my liking.

Guru, did you have to back off on your GPU overclocks to run BFBC2 as well?

I'm getting random nvldomkm.sys (x000000116) BSOD's, which is Nvidia video driver/card related.

So I'm thiking that I may have to back off on my 285 overclock, think so?

No, from what I can tell, the friend invite isn't working.

I sent you an invite (twice) and several others, but no accept/replies from anyone yet.

10.3 back in and no more flicker lol

Anyone know of a benchmark tool for BFBC2 ?

Tri Xfire 5870,s 925/1250 maxed everything in game 1920x1080 with 8x aa in game I am pulling 68 FPS on max low to 185 FPS max high with a average of 87 FPS.

but a benchmark tool just makes it more official.

Just put everything on default and it should not BSOD.
In games, there's more stress on the components then in some synthetic benchmarks.

They'll also patch the game soon enough.
It worked fine for me when it was released; no issues at all, but it seems now everyone was that lucky.

my flicker problem is back with this game & worse then ever before, all drivers are doing it now.

If I turn off Cat AI it goes away. So clearly there is a problem with driver optimizations when running Xfire and multi GPU in BFBC2.

NEED a fix lol

Tried the xfire 10.3 pack and it made it even worse.

BFBC2 is the ONLY game with this flicker problem.

My understanding is that if you turn AI off then you are essentially turning X-Fire off. Do you find this to be true?

Yes, it is true.

Ok so here is my fix, same fix I have been using all along.

Driver cleaner pro remove all ATI traces

Remove any and all ATI drivers and software.

Before you restart install cat 10.3 official. Restart your PC

Set up your in driver eye candy and set Cat AI to advanced.

When stutter happens, Just go into menu and turn HBAO off then back on right away and stutter stops.

You will need to repeat every time you zone to a new level. Note : works perfect when running in full DX 11.

Note: DO NOT use the 10.3 xfire pack or the stutter fix will not work. Also make note this is ONLY a problem in a multi GPU xfire environment.

Also make note that AA is at it,s peak efficiency with 10.3 official and aa sucks for me at least in BFBC2 and 10.5 beta.

Do you notice any stuttering in Prototype like you do in BFBC2? If so, does your recommendation work here too?
