why isnt there any demo released for HL2? I mean before buying a game I would rather try it out like I do for everyother games, now I've only seend HL2 and Doom3 not realeasing a demo before the game was out why are they not releasing a demo?

Thats a good point actually. I hate it when they release the game BEFORE releasing the demo. I assume they are trying to make more people buy the game, whereas if there was a demo out, they might realise how buggy it is...and not buy the game.

I think there's enough people stocked up with HL2 already heh. I suppose they will release the demo slightly hereafter.

A lot of companies use Demos as another marketing strategy.

So they'll release the game then about a month after they'll release the demo so all the people who were unsure about it could have a go and see for themselves.

Did you read the other posts? We don't know when (or even if) Valve will put out a demo. If they do, somebody will probably post a link to it though.

valve never even released a demo of the original Half Life, the only one I saw was a third party demo called "Day One" or something similar. I don't think Valve will ever release a demo for HL2 personally.

no I played HL1 and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like HL2 maybe but it's just that I don't get whey they can't release a demo I don't really like buying anything if I didn't try before even because we are talking about 60$ if it was 5$ I wouldn't care but for 60 then I'll think twice before making that move
