So, im interested to hear everybodys opinion so far.

and because admins dont like multiple thread i thought id make this one.

first off ill start i have to say HL2 is going to set the league for games for now on. The facial animations are superb, and the use of physics in gameplay is amazing! something which has never been done before.

EG. those things that hang off from above you with the long tounges that try to suck you up. In a huge pack you roll an exlplosive barrel at them they suck it up and you shoot it BOOM.

i havnt completed it yet but so far this game is amazing and i can see why 97% and above in most magazines!

/Edit: I stickied this post, so that everyone can find it for the next few weeks. -ZapWizard

This is my favorite game now. Seriously.

I was swimming through some water at the beginning of the game and you look up and see relections on what is outside the water kinda like you would in real life. Also the bullets make a sweet rippleing effect.

I was totaly ready, but fell asleep.

I woke up at 5:00am and started playing.

The game is totaly amazing.
Every bit as good as the original, and has the same suspenseful feel.

LOTS of new stuff, and the area's are huge.
The puzzles are great and very well thought out.

The physics and gameplay is great.
Most challanges, even with 5 or 6 enemies can be done with only 5 or so bullets, if you plan it out a bit.

Also, there is only one way to play HalfLife2:

In High Definition on a 47" screen.

dunno if this is the right place to put it but does anyone know,..if you downloaded the valve premier pack (<- however its spelt) can you download HL2 and play it on there while still requesting it on Cd?? like i want to play it now and not have to wait 8-10weeks according to ATI's half life 2 offer, i mainly want it on cd for two purposes,.. if my computer gets messed up real bad i can still reinstall the game, and i feel having a hard copy of the game right in front of you is safer in case of some freak accident

Well i checked out valve's website and found this answer*&p_li=' ">http://steampowered.custhelp.c...XRfbHZsMj0mcF9wYWdlPTI which doesnt seem to be too helpful....

Check out the numbers on someof the benchies for HL2. Looks like ATI has gotten its revenge on nvidia for the Doom 3 fiasco, and the consumer is the overall winner.

First, whose benches are these? Because they look to be internally produced. Personally, I'll wait for the third-party results, particularly since the Stress Test and CS:S show things [content edited] near dead even. Besides, if it takes two driver releases in a week to pull that kind of performance off, I don't think NVIDIA is worried.

The Inquirer made them by themselves, its not even ATI branded with © logos or anything. I call this as third party as you can get.

Check out the 6800GT, lagging behind the 12 pipeline X800 pro. A coinkidink?

Neat news, but I fear another Fanboy War in the making.
Let's all remember, above about 40 FPS, it gonna look great no matter what card you gamming with. And they'll be a new "benchmark" around the corner....
Cheers,

Oh i never intended this to be a war, but its just a restatement of my point that i made a few months ago about benchies that showed ati doing extremely well on hl2, people didnt even believe me. This is final proof of that and all ATI owners should be satisfied with the performance they get when they play HL2 today or if they have already played.

No, that definitely isn't Inq made because the Inq has never done performance comparisons in that manner. Moreover:

QUOTE HALF LIFE 2 is finally with us and we've had sight of some benchmarks of ATI products with the long-awaited game.

We reproduce these below

As I said, I'll wait for third-party confirmation.
