QUOTE (Mincemeat @ Dec 1 2004, 09:53 PM)How many maps total are there for this mode? Ive only played on the jail cell area map... awesome map, not dissing it in any way, but want a little variety.
Two, and you've described them.

QUOTE where do dl this?
Assuming you have a legal copy of HL2: Log onto Steam, right click "Half-Life 2 Deathmatch", hit install.

I just wish CS:Source would stop crashing out, locking up, and all around being a pain in the *bleep*.. i love the game.. it just feels more true than normal CS ever did...

HL2 did not crash at all since I've made the crack myself.
The CS:S is working fine also (no crash ever).
Aw, one of the dlls (mss32.dll) had some problems in early versions of HL2 but it works now.

Anyone know if any other maps besides lockdown and over??? are coming out? I love them both but would like to see something more in terms of maps. Maybe a coastal map.... maybe a ravenholm map.

look at it this way the textures are there the editiors and SDK are out and there's loads of map makers that will make one sooner or later just have to wait

I played on a 35ping HL2 DM server last night and it was fun, but quite occasionally it felt like I was STUCK - almost like there was something stuck at my feet and did not let me move forward - even though there was nothing there. Was good fun, although I was being squished all the time Will try some more - perhaps the server I was on was just misbehaving a little. I've only played on one map so far - so hopefully they will put more on the server.

played some the other day, very fun but kind of chaotic compared to what I'm used to. I still managed a 1:1 ratio on a fairly full server.

Looks like HL2 Deathmatch is what VALVe has been working on instead of CS:S.

Yea I guess this is why they have pretty silent over the past few months. Its nice of them to surprise us like that. Who is complaining? We didnt get it at launch, but since we have it we shouldnt complain.

Some people complain about the lag and other issues tho but they fail to realize that HL2 Deathmatch is pretty much a BETA. I personally really love the game. Never has a game enabled you to throw urinals and kill people

I was reading about the lag issues and some think it's because of all the physics calculations happening in the game, which makes sense to me.

Basically, its a brand new release that like everything, needs time to mature. Counter strike didnt evolve in a day, neither did Half Life. This DM mode needs time to be optimized and have code reshuffled so that it runs cleanly. Doesnt matter, im proud to be part of the beta test!
