QUOTE(S.W.A.T.911 @ May 19 2005, 05:46 PM)i dont think it is ugly, in PS2 controler the thing is small and in PS3 it is long, so my hands can hold the whole controler and have more control. When u get PS3 u will see what i am talking about.
same here, the PS1&2 controlers are kinda small, and I can't get my hands on them if you know what I mean. That's why I'm looking forward to the [new] PS3 controlers.

instead of comparing it to a piece of fruit (pretty funny tho) how about this maxfire controller, that i got free when mum and dad bought their pc in 1998. thats right 7 years ago!!! ' ">http://img237.echo.cx/my.php?image=dsc006133vd.jpg just imagine the analogue sticks in the middle and, well the pic says it all. obviously i cant speak for the ps3 controller here as we get no perspective for the size. but the games controller i have is awful. cant reach the buttons properly and it just feels arkward. thank god for the invention of the convertor from xbox connector to usb. i use my xbox s controller for most everthing. /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

I think it's GREAT. Can't wait to try these things. Why anyone says it's ugly is totally beyond me. I think this pad will be the best yet. You people will probably eat your words later.
QUOTE(MrWicked1968 @ May 21 2005, 03:21 PM)how many of you are old enough to remember actually playing on the original Atari 2600 joystick, the 5200 joystick (the first one with a "pause" button), or the original, square NES gamepad?
wow, I'm old(er).....
Yes, I remember it well. Glad to say I'm not a gaming n00b, but ummm, not so happy about admitting that I remember the Atari 2600 controller!

ninja, unless that was sarcasm, I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with you, like I already said, I'm looking forward to this new controller because the current ones are a bit too small (at least for my hands, and my hands are not that big).

All this controller shows, is that Sony isnt afraid to take scrutiny for weird controller configurations. See: Microsoft Xbox Controller 1. The "Cadillac". I personally think it looks like something you would see in one of those "hip" Cosmopolitain High Rise Apartments in New York or Los Angeles. But, thats me.

Well, I said the same thing to a buddy of mine that was in college at the time. He called me up about two months later, told me he "had" something for me to pick up. So I drove to his campus, went to his room... he had complete a really nice NES system for me lol. He gutted a NES system, and used the "case" to put a SFF computer inside it. It was very cool to see, and obviously used an emulator.. it had Windows XP, and ONLY the emu. He didnt include any ROMs with it, but nonetheless, very cool lol.
I later asked him, why didnt you just buy a NES ? He replied "Hm....didnt think of that" lmao..

I've always called that one "the hamburger"...anyhow...since the RSX video system has now been proven to be vaporware (for the purposes of E3 showcasing) I would hope that Sony will be able to come up with something better controllerwise by the time it's released...
I'm not a big fan of shoulder buttons anyway...they lack the tactile response of trigger buttons like those on the GC and xbox controllers
