Actually, it's more of a problem of it running too fast. Especially in battles. I've played around with the video settings but a lot of the settings are kind of out of date. Anyone with a modern computer running this game?

have you tried compatibility mode? at least it works for you, I can't get Mechwarrior 3 to work with mine at all.
I play the original half life, it's almost too fast...

/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /> apparently new hardware isn't backward compatible with old software.... or it could be XP. but no, i've run FFVII on XP, and was working well...

COMPATABILITY MODE, of course! i just thought that was for DOS programs is why i didnt try it
works awesome now, thanks!
also i think its kind of funny how there is no way to close FF7 until they teach you the controls for the menu (you cant access until they tell you), at least that i know, ive been having to use CTRLALTDEL...
and ive recently decided MGS3 and FF7 tie for best game ever, only because they are completely different kinds of games. stories are equal.

I had a problem back when i got my Athlon700 and some really old DOS games were way too fast!
i used a program called CRAWL.EXE in DOS and it slows down the CPU to make it playable. maybe there is some sort of tool in Windows to slow down CPU for certain games?
also, you can maybe try RightMark CPU Clock. It allows you to fine-tune the Cool'n'Quiet feature of AMD chips, but you can also force the chip to stay slow, which may help when you play FF7. Maybe if the CPU runs at 800mhz or 1ghz only, it may work. also, your video card can be overclocked with some utilities (like Coolbits or RivaTuner), but it can also be 'UNDER' clocked. so there are ways to make it run slower.
let us know what works for you.

Its got the Turks in it that are fighting soldiers like sephiroth and they summon I believe its Diamond weapon and all the gang (tifa, barret, cid, vincent...) all fight it. Can't wait to see this movie. /wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' />

i don't know, i just liked i better. i still think that if VII had normal, proportionally built humans, it would've been even better. it's actually the last FF i played. IX and above... weren't that interesting... i guess it's just about tastes huh

I've never played FF, but I've watched people playing it, and I must say I don't think I'd like turn based strategy games. RTS I can handle.
FF has always been a good looking game, though.

its not turn based strategy its an rpg. VII is time based not turn based. But its also not real time(if you play it you will understand) If you want a fun computer game and you dont care about gfx than pick yourself up a copy. Its a really wonderful game.
