hi!
well, obviously after getting a new hard drive, i had to reinstall everything over again. everything went perfectly, until i tried installing counter strike source. i installed it, updated it fully, and since my PC has no internet connection in mt room, disconnected it from the living room at took it back to my room.
there, i could not play. i always got the "hl2.exe has encountered a problem and must close" when trying to start a game. i was like, heck, ok let's try again. uninstalled, reinstalled and WHILE connected, it played fine. weird.
with the computer connected to the net, i started and played 5 mins in every map i could, all loaded perfectly and everything. pulled the plug from the net, and it gave the error again. plugged into the net again, and once again played fine. so my conclusion is, that offline play has been disabled or something, but since it gives an error, it's a nasty bug they did not see coming with their stpd "dynamic pricing" thing.
anyone knows something about it?

that's the point. i do, and the game crashes if not online, thus, it won't play offline.
