Somethin must have been wrong with your drivers then, I myself have a worse system and play morrowind at 1024x768 with shadows on and draw distance at almost max no problem runs like a dream, but oblivion (getting it friday) will probably run like crap on my system, 2ghz minimum requirement may have to run oblivion at the dreaded 800x600 minimal graphics settings...guess I will have to wait until friday to find out though. -D-

Had a change of plans, managed to get Oblivion this morning been playing for about 4hours now at 1024x768, and I must say it runs quite well, only chopped a little bit at the starting, I'll take a look at the rest of my graphic settings later, back to playing its very good so far. -D-

just got home with my copy. was kind of pissed gamestop was sold out since website # check said "4+" when all the other locations said 0 (included to show that it was this one store, not a problem with the system)
but on the way back i saw best buy and debated it but eventually pulled in and they had like 50 copies...
but im going to finish HL2 first, a game like this is teh ultimate distraction
(if it wasnt HL2 i would be interrupting it though)

If you like "open ended" RPG's I think you'll enjoy this. Your lucky to have found 50copies there is only 1 place in my city to buy "new" games like that on the specified release date, there was only 3 left on the shelf when I got there at lunch. It cost me like $56 though but so far its been worth every penny. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> My only gripe with the game is they should have left the menu like it was on Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind, takes a little getting used to with this new menu but once you learn it there is no problems. quote:

If you've played the 3rd installment in the Elder Scroll series (Morrowind) I'm not too sure how this could be "Not what you expected" its an open ended (large) rpg just like the 3rd one was , They've just made some changes that some may or may not like for example the new inventory window and the way you interact with npcs. -D-

Sorry, Euro Forces, a new game has taken over. The only thing that'll stop me from playing Oblivion will be once HL2: Episode One comes out. Once I finish that though, it's back to this I go. - N

Well, beating the main quest is how you beat the game. However, once you beat the game, you're allowed to still play it. It doesn't just end right then and there and you're SOL. You can keep playing and doing other quests, building up wealth, etc. Good luck beating all the quests though. - N

I've been playing Oblivion, runs great at 1280x1024 on my rig, with some minor tweaks to grass and tree distance for outdoors, and tweaks to the shadow system for indoors, looks almost as good as max and runs smooth. No HDR for lack of SM3.0, but it would've just forced me to lower my res anyways, got bloom of course.
