My machine is a dual Opteron 6128 (two 2.0 GHz 8-core Opterons) running the A5 core bigadv work units on Linux. The poor-producing (p268x) WUs get about 35k PPD while the better-producing ones (p690x) units are 55-58k ppd. The massive bonus for getting bigadv WUs back quickly is what makes up most of the PPD. The base PPD of this machine is something around 10k ppd IIRC.
If you really want to see some huge PPDs, go look at people who run quad 12-core Opterons, 8-core Xeon 7500s, or dual six-core Xeon 5600s being run at over 4 GHz on EVGA SR-2s. Those guys pull in 100k+ ppd with the fastest machines getting close to 200k ppd.
